Description: jar used to store butter or honey, consisting of a glazed clay body with a wooden lid and leather handle.

Additional information: the use of leatherwork is a long-standing application to everyday life objects in Oman and symbolises the herding lifestyle. The leather can be from goat, camel, sheep and cattle (Richardson and Dorr, 2003. The Craft Heritage of Oman. London: Motivate Publishing, pp.472; 496).
