Description: pot hammered out of a copper sheet and decorated in bands of different heights, which was used to pour liquids. The ring at the back may have been used to hang it.
Additional information: the decorative bands are incised in different geometric motifs including chevrons, rhombuses and vertical lines. Ceremonial articles are often highly decorative, with chased, impressed, pierced and incised work predominating. Floral motifs are also favoured. Palm trees are typically featured on flat pieces such as food-serving trays, while the use of the scrolled leaf or arabesque design is prevalent on cylindrical forms (Richardson and Dorr, 2003. The Craft Heritage of Oman. London: Motivate Publishing, pp.457-459).
